I had the privilege of working as an edit trainee on this Elements Pictures feature, an opportunity I got thanks to my participation in the ScreenSkills Film Trainee program.
The feature was shot entirely on film, which made it both fascinating and challenging to work on. The editing process was handled in Avid Media Composer. Having studied how to use Avid but never had the chance to work with it on a real project, this was an incredible rollercoaster of an experience.
I learned so much about the entire workflow in Avid—ingesting, editing, exporting, and preparing different types of deliverables for the vendors. But personally, the highlight for me was getting to edit a few scenes. Before the first screening, the editor needed help assembling the first cut, and I was assigned a few scenes to work on. It was an unforgettable experience and a real privilege to contribute in that way.
This project was such a thrill to be part of, and I can’t wait to see it on the big screen!
